Large Corporate Conference (800–1,000 Attendees)
The Grand Ballroom is a 9,782 sq. ft. ballroom with an approximately 146-foot room length and an 18-foot ceiling. For large conferences, the AV design should prioritize presenter visibility, clear speech coverage, and strong presentation graphics throughout the room.
With the ballroom extending approximately 146 feet, a single centre screen may not provide sufficient visibility for attendees seated at the rear. Side screens and IMAG become increasingly valuable as the audience approaches the room’s maximum capacity.
For smaller conferences and seminars, a more streamlined setup would be appropriate:
This provides a professional presentation environment without the production requirements of a full-scale conference.
For awards and gala events, the focus should shift toward visual impact, branding and atmosphere:
The 18-foot ceiling provides adequate vertical space for a professional stage lighting package while maintaining a clean ballroom presentation.
If the Grand Ballroom is being used as the main general-session theatre for a trade show:
This configuration allows the ballroom to function as a complete general-session production environment.
The room is approximately 146 feet long, so attendees at the rear will be considerably farther from the stage.
For conferences approaching 800–1,000 attendees, I would recommend:
For larger events, IMAG should be considered an important production element rather than simply an optional upgrade.
Due to the ballroom’s large footprint, the audio system should be designed for consistent speech intelligibility throughout the room.
A distributed or delayed speaker configuration can be considered where necessary rather than relying entirely on a traditional left/right system. The objective is to maintain clear speech at the rear without excessive sound levels near the stage.
Recommended stage sizes:
The larger configurations provide adequate space for keynote speakers, panel discussions, entertainment, scenic elements and sponsor branding.
Executive Meeting / Small Corporate Seminar
With a 39′ × 16′ footprint and 9′ ceiling, New Brunswick is better suited to a compact presentation setup rather than a large-scale LED production. Projection or a professional display would provide a cleaner and more practical solution for this room.
Training / Seminar
For training sessions, workshops, or smaller corporate meetings:
The relatively low ceiling and compact room dimensions make simplicity and readability more important than large-scale production.
For smaller executive meetings, projection may not even be necessary.
A 75″–86″ professional display can provide a cleaner setup while keeping the room open and reducing equipment footprint.
Recommended equipment:
Because of the compact room size, a large PA system is unnecessary. A small speech-reinforcement system or professional display with suitable audio should provide sufficient coverage.
