Large Corporate Conference (800–1,700 Attendees)
This is a large-scale ballroom and should be treated as a full production environment. With a room capacity of up to 1,700 theatre-style and a 165-foot room length, presenter visibility and even audio coverage should be major priorities.
For larger conferences, the goal should be consistent visibility and audio coverage throughout the entire room, rather than relying on a single centre screen or speaker system.
For a smaller conference, the production package can be scaled down while maintaining a professional presentation environment:
This configuration provides a strong balance between production quality and budget.
For gala events, the focus should shift toward visual impact and atmosphere:
The ballroom’s large footprint makes it suitable for a high-impact scenic and lighting design.
When the ballroom is being used as the main theatre for a trade show or exhibition:
This setup allows the ballroom to operate as the main general-session theatre while supporting presentations, panels, sponsor content and live production.
The ballroom is approximately 165 feet long, so rear attendees can be significantly farther from the stage than those seated near the front.
For events approaching 800 guests or more, I would recommend:
For large conferences, image magnification should be considered an essential production element, particularly for keynote presentations and panel discussions.
Because of the ballroom’s large 14,850 sq. ft. footprint, the audio system should be designed for even coverage throughout the room.
A distributed or delayed speaker configuration may be preferable to relying exclusively on a traditional left/right system. The objective is to maintain clear speech intelligibility at the rear of the ballroom without excessive volume near the stage.
Recommended stage sizes:
Larger stage configurations provide sufficient room for keynote speakers, panel discussions, entertainment, scenic elements and sponsor branding while maintaining the appropriate scale for the ballroom.
Corporate Conference / General Session
Toronto AB is best suited for a medium-to-large corporate meeting or conference setup, where clear presentation visibility, speech reinforcement, and flexible screen configurations are the main priorities.
Corporate Meeting / Seminar
For smaller groups, a simpler configuration would be more appropriate:
This keeps the setup professional while avoiding unnecessary production equipment.
For a gala or awards presentation, the emphasis should be on atmosphere and branding:
For a larger general session:
A professionally tuned PA system should be used to provide clear and consistent speech coverage throughout the room. Wireless microphones should include handheld and/or lavalier microphones depending on the presentation format.
The stage should provide enough space for keynote speakers, panels, presentations, and branding. A centre screen or LED wall should be positioned so that content remains clearly visible from the rear of the room.
